Hatchet 3 analysis (Decker Shado review)

"Hatchet III" (2013) is the horror film that continues to tell the tale of Victor Crowley, the evil ghost. BJ McDonnell directed the film, which is the third and last installment of the Hatchet film series. Kane Hodder, Zach Galligan and Danielle Harris star in this film.

The film follows Crowley, a group local hunters and the survivors of earlier films, as they are hunted down by Crowley. The story of Crowley's past and how he became the vengeful ghost is also explored.

The cast and crew of the film performed admirably in making these characters come to life. Kane Hodder, who played Crowley was a ferocious performance to the character. The practical effects used by Crowley to bring the evil ghost to life were very impressive and added to the film's horror aspect.

One of the strengths of the movie was the use of practical special effects. They were well-done, and added to the terror element. The film's pace was well done, which kept the audience on the edge.

The film's downsides are the fact that it repeats the same plot as the other films of the series. The plot was confusing at times, which made it difficult to follow.

Overall, I liked "Hatchet III" although it was quite similar (blog post) to other entries in Hatchet's film series. While the film's pace and practical effects were great, the plot and the familiarity of the storyline was not my favorite. The film is worth seeing if the series is your favorite and you enjoy slasher movies.
